Sustainability

I'm passionate about our planet, that's why I try to make my carbon-footprint as small as possible. Not only that but I strive to work with other companies who share the same goals and values as I do. Here I talk about the ways inwhich I'm trying to make a positive difference to our planet.

It's leather, but not as we know it

Recycling more and wasting less with Eleather

Did you know that up to 75% of traditional leather is often unused?

That's a huge amount of waste contributing to landfill. Now imagine if you could take all those offcuts of leather and turn them into a new, sustainable product which was durable and had the look and feel of real leather. That's exactly what Eleather Group have done, the UK's leading company behind sustainable leather alternatives. They collect 1000's of tons of leather offcuts and turn them into a new, engineered leather. Not only this but they recycle 95% of the process water and waste streams are converted into energy which is fed back into the system.

So when it came to choosing a fabric which could be used to make my bags and accessories, it made sense to use this pioneering material and support the conservation of our precious planet.

Every recycled leather bag I sell helps to minimise our carbon footprint by saving more leather waste from ending up in landfill and polluting our natural resources.

Reducing waste with reusable materials

Sustainability doesn't stop with the final product

In 2018, the UK generated 2.36 million metric tons of plastic packaging waste. This was an increase of approximately 100,000 metric tons from the previous year. Between 2002 and 2012, plastic packaging waste generation increased by 55 percent to a peak of 2.55 million metric tons.

This is a shocking amount and an unsustainable model if we are to protect the future of our planet, that's why all of my packaging is plastic-free and designed to be reused over and over again.

Not only do I use cardboard or paper packaging boxes and envelopes, but my business cards and leaflets are printed on recycled paper and I use paper tape to secure your order before it gets sent. I also buy my branded tissue paper from a fantastic sustainable company called Noissue, who only offer packaging that is made from recycled materials, is compostable or reusable. I always encourage customers to reuse or recycle their packaging where possible.
